A busy time! How to Host a Unicorn is out in the universe, and I’m developing next year’s release, How to Christmas with a Unicorn.

My baby (Simply Dag) has been away at another version of summer camp, i.e., a preliminary round of beta reading. Some of the feedback has moved me to tears. The hard work, the worry, the stress… it’s all worth it. 💙
You cannot read this and walk away without being grateful that Sara chose to honor him in this way.
His ambitions went beyond the averageness of money and power; they were to help the world shine brighter. Dag impacted the globe during a time of intense upheaval and set a standard of character we can still strive for today.
This is beyond what I expected. I was captivated!
This will stay with me forever.
The common portrayals of Dag as a cold, calculating bureaucrat, a boring snob, or a secretive weirdo obscure Dag’s warmth, kindness, and affection. To me, that’s one of the greatest shames of all.
When I described Decoding the Unicorn to a group of friends, I said that I saw Dag as an orb of light. Over the years, that light had been covered by blankets, cloaks, and coats. Cobwebs and dust had settled, and the orb was obscured. My job wasn’t to add anything to that glow; it was already bright enough. Instead, I was meant to clear away the dirt, the mess, and the layers so his light could shine again, especially for those who had never seen it before. The same holds true now: I wish to sweep away ridiculous myths and propaganda, focusing solely on the man Dag Hammarskjöld truly was—not a timid mouse or a manipulative magician, but a kind, beautiful soul worthy of exploration.
