Decoding the Unicorn is an Award Winner!
You know those obnoxious LinkedIn posts, “I am happy to announce . . .”
Yeah, I don’t want to be like that. So I may have to get creative here because I do have some cool news: Decoding the Unicorn has been awarded by the Nonfiction Authors Association!
This recognition is wonderful because it’s a testament to the time, heart, and passion that went into bringing Dag Hammarskjöld’s story to life. My goal with this book was always to paint a vivid, human portrait of Dag—one that resonates beyond the usual cold, academic narratives. I wanted to highlight his quiet leadership, his resilience, his personality, and his deep sense of service, and I’m so grateful that the book has struck a chord with readers.
A few words from the judges:
Sara Causey takes you on the journey of a relatively unknown statesman that history buffs should see as a global hero. The author did a great job at researching the man for this biographical tale. She takes a lively approach to making Dag’s journey a first-hand experience. The effort made to justify and venerate Dag’s resilience at world peace was felt throughout the book.
Thank you all for being part of this journey with me! Onward and upward—Dag’s story is far from over!
